121 (Eagle) Squadron was the second of three RAF Eagle Squadrons formed during World War II to be manned by volunteer pilots primarily from America and Canada.

121 Squadron traces its lineage back to a 121 Squadron that was formed during World War I, and existed briefly from January, 1918 to August, 1918 but never became operational[1].

  • May 14, 1941 121 (Eagle) Squadron is formed at Kirton-in-Lindsey[1].
  • September 29, 1942 The RAF's 121 (Eagle) Squadron is transferred to the US Army Air Force and is redesignated the 335th Fighter Squadron[1].
