As of summer 2007, the 46th ERS was operating in Iraq at Balad Air Base as part of the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing with less than a dozen airmen in-country. The airmen of the 46th are responsible for take-off and landing of the Predator, as well as flying within a 25-mile radius of the base; for operations beyond that, they hand-off control to personnel at Nellis AFB, Nevada or March Air Reserve Base, Calilfornia[1].
