[edit] GEBO II

In January, 1950, Convair proposed creation of a supersonic parasite bomber carried by a B-36 as part of the GEneralized BOmber Phase II (GEBO II) studies that they were conducting for the USAF[1].

[edit] FICON

The FICON (FIghter CONveyor) project was conducted by the U.S. Air Force in the early 1950s to extend the range of relatively fast and maneuverable nuclear-armed fighter-bombers by docking them to a long-range heavy bomber mothership. The Air Force considered the heavy bombers of the time to be too slow and vulnerable to penetrate the increasingly lethal defenses around key target areas, yet fighter-bombers didn't have sufficient range to reach the targets independently. The solution envisioned for the problem was to create a long-range B-36 mothership that was modified to carry an F-84 fighter that would deliver the ordinance.
