From 1939-1940, Alekseev was Chief of the Main Directorate for Aviation Supply[1].

Alekseev was promoted to the rank of Lt. Gen. on June 4, 1940[2].

In 1941 he became the Assistant Commander for Training in the Privolga Military District's air forces[1].

He was arrested in June, 1941, and executed on February 23, 1942[1].
