Deinekin, Pyotr Stepanovich

In 1991, Deinekin became Commander in Chief of the Soviet Air Forces and Deputy Minister of Defense[1].
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Deinekin briefly served as the Commander in Chief of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Air Forces[1].
The Russian Ministry of Defense was formed in May, 1992 and after a short organizational period Deinekin was made the first Commander in Chief of Russian Air Forces in September, 1992[2]. He served in the post From 1992 to 1997[1].
