Filin, Aleksandr Ivanovich

Filin joined the Red Army in 1921. He completed the Leningrad Military Aviation Theory school in 1922 and the Borisoglebsk Military Pilots School in 1925[1].
In 1930, Filin began work as a test pilot at the Soviet Air Force Scientific Testing Center (NII). Filin participated in testing a wide range of aircraft, including the I-14, I-16, I-5, I-15, and DI-6. In 1937 he became commander of the Scientific Testing Center[2].
Filin was arrested on May 23, 1941, convicted on February 13, 1942, and executed on February 23, 1942[1].
