Lazarevich served in the Russian army prior to World War I, and graduated from the Russian General Staff Academy in 1912[1].
Lazarevich joined the Red Army in 1918[1]. He participated in the Russian Civil War and held several command positions, including chief of staff for the 4th Army, commander of the 4th Army, chief of staff of the Western Front, commander of the 3rd Army, and commander of the Turkestan Front[2].
After the war, Lazarevich served as the deputy commander of the Red Army Main Directorate for Military Training Establishments from 1922 to 1925. He became commander of the Zhukovskii Military Air Academy in 1925, and served in that position until 1927. From 1927-34, he was attached to the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR. In 1934, he became chief of the tactics and combat command department in the Military Transport Academy[2].
He was arrested on February 4, 1938, convicted on June 20, 1938, and executed on the same day[2].
