Remarks: The Malayan Emergency was an insurrection and guerrilla war fought in Malaya between government forces supported by the British, and the Communist Malayan National Libration Army.

• June 16, 1948 British authorities implement a state of emergency in the Malayan state of Perak and outlaw the Malayan Communist Party (MCP) and other leftist groups, leading to the eventual formation of the Malayan National Libration Army (MNLA) which would go on to wage a full-scale guerrilla war with Commonwealth troops during the Malayan Emergency^[1].
