Mironov, Aleksei Matveevich

Mironov was one of the early recipients of the Order of the Red Banner, having received it in 1919[1][2].
Mironov attended the Red Army Military Academy from 1922-1925. He then held a number of command positions in the air forces and naval air forces, including: commander of the 41st Corps Aviation Detachment (1925-1926), commander of the 28th Aviation Squadron (1926-1929), commander of the Operations and Tactics Department of the Red Army Air Forces (1929-1930), Chief of Staff of the Black Sea Fleet Air Forces (1930-1932), commander of the Black Sea Fleet's 55th Aviation Brigade (1932-1935), Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet Air Forces (1935-1938), and Commander of the Black Sea Fleet Air Forces (from 1938)[1].
Mironov was arrested in August, 1938 and imprisoned until September, 1940[1].
After being released from prison in 1940, Mironov attended advanced courses for the Air Forces and Air Defense Forces until 1941. From 1941-1942 he served as the commander of the Levanevskii Naval Aviation School. In 1942 he returned to service with the Black Sea Fleet as Chief of Staff for the Black Sea Fleet Air Forces. From 1943-1944 he served as the commander of Black Sea Fleet Air Defenses, and from 1944-1945 as the Deputy Commander of Black Sea Fleet Air Forces[1].
