During the Russian Civil War, Moiseev initially served as an armored car driver in a unit of the 5th Army. He entered the Moscow Aviation School in fall of 1918[1]. He went on to serve as a pilot in a fighter detachment of the 3rd Division, 10th Army, and in the 34th and 35th Reconnaissance Detachments of the 9th Army. He participated in the battles against Denikin and was awarded an Order of the Red Banner for conducting reconnaissance for the 9th Army. He later received a second Order of the Red Banner for action against the Basmachi in Central Asia[2].

In August, 1923 Moiseev piloted the first regularly scheduled passenger flight between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod[1].

In 1926 Moiseev participated in a round-trip flight in R-1s between Moscow and Tehran[1], for which he was awarded a third Order of the Red Banner. Later that year he became a flight instructor at the Soviet Air Force Academy, and in June was awarded the title of "Distinguished Pilot". Starting in 1927 he served as a test pilot[2].

Moiseev went into the reserves in 1936. Starting in 1939 he worked for the People's Committee for Aviation Industry[2].

In 1967 he went into retirement, and passed away a year later in 1968[2].
