Orenburg Military Pilots School
From OnAirpower.org
The history of the Orenburg Military Pilots School began with the formation of the Moscow School for Air Combat and Bombing (in Russian: Московская школа воздушного боя и бомбометания) on August 10, 1921. The school initially offered a six month course that allowed already trained flight crews to gain experience by applying their theoretical knowledge[1]. K. F. Kapustyan was the first commander of the school.
On August 9, 1922[2] the school moved from its initial location near the Zhukovskii Academy to the city of Serpukhov on the outskirts of Moscow, and began to be called the Serpukhovsk Aviation School of Air Gunnery and Bombardment (in Russian: Серпуховская авиационная школа воздушной стрельбы и бомбометания)[1].
In October, 1927 the school relocated to the city of Orenburg[2].
