Petrozhitskii, Ivan Iosifovich

Petrozhitskii completed the Sevastopol (Kachinskii) in 1916 and flew as a fighter pilot during World War I[1].
After the Russian Revolution he joined the Reds and participated in the Russian Civil War, serving in the Southern and Caucuses fronts and earning two Order of the Red Banner awards[1].
Later he went on to serve as the commander of the Moscow Military District air forces and later as chief of one of the sections in Air Force headquarters. He also held positions in the aviation industry and the Civil Air Fleet[1].
He was arrested on August 18, 1938 and imprisoned for ten years[2].
