[edit] Biography
In 1932 Sakrier held the rank of Brigade Engineer and was made the head of a newly formed "Special Faculty for Artillery Fire Direction Instruments" at the Dzerzhinskii Artillery Academy. He had previously authored the first textbook on the subject. Sakrier held the position until he went to work at the GAU in 1935[1].
In 1941, Sakrier held the position of Chief of the Air Force Armaments Directorate at the rank of Division Engineer. He was arrested on April 21, 1941 and executed on October 28, 1941[2]. During interrogation, Sakrier reportedly admitted (almost certainly under duress, if indeed he actually did admit it) to working for German intelligence since 1931 and being recruited by Nikolai Efimov (Chief of the Artillery Directorate) to conduct "sabotage activity to wreck the armaments of the Red Army Air Forces"[3].
