- November 21, 1937 Seven I-16 fighters piloted by Soviet Volunteers in China engage twenty Japanese planes and shoot down two Mitsubishi G3M Type 96 bombers[1].
- December 1, 1937 Eighty-six planes of various types, including I-16 fighters and SB bombers, are officially transferred by the Soviets to the Chinese, accompanied by Soviet volunteer pilots to fly them[1].
