Maj. Gen. Boris Lvovich Teplinskii participated in the Russian Civil War, and afterwards went on to become an air brigade chief of staff, an instructor at the General Staff Academy, assistant commander of the VVS General Staff, and chief of staff of a military region's air forces[1].
In 1943, Teplinskii was arrested and accused of being part of a plot to assassinate Stalin. He remained in prison until Stalin's death in 1953, after which he was released and "rehabilitated"[2].
