Zhukovskii Military Air Academy
The N. E. Zhukovskii Orders of Lenin & the October Revolution Red Banner Military Air Engineering Academy (Военно-воздушная инженерная орденов Ленина и Октябрьской Революции Краснознаменная академия имени Н.Е. Жуковского, abbreviated VVIA) is a university in Moscow, Russia with a focus on engineering and science in aviation, aeronautics, and related fields. The university is named in the honor of the prominent Russian scientist N. E. Zhukovskii.
Commanders of the academy include: Vladimir S. Lazarevich (1925-1927).
Graduates of the Academy include Soviet aircraft designers Ilyushin, Mikoyan, Yakovlev, Kuznetsov, and Tumanskii; eight Marshals of Aviation, and fifteen cosmonauts[1].

- September 5, 1919 The Moscow Aviation Technical School is founded. It would later become the Zhukovskii Military Air Academy[2]
- September 26, 1920 The Moscow Aviation Technical School is renamed to the N. E. Zhukovskii Engineering Institute of the Red Air Fleet.[3]
